As much as it hurt to watch this team beat my beloved Phils, I have to admit they made a pretty cool chart. Some interesting things: The big impact Rodriguez had on the team’s offense when he joined the team in May; the starting pitching pattern created by the short rest situation in the playoffs; the vanishing Mr. Cano; the cluster of power hitters in the lineup is something I haven’t seen in any other team I’ve posterized. And, I have to point out, there’s nothing quantifiable that would make you think Jeter would win offensive honors. Must be the intangibles. Or the dimples.
